Directed by Ava DuVernay and a score by Flying Lotus, the video starts with a quote from James Baldwin:
“The wretched of the earth do not decide to become extinct, they resolve, on the contrary, to multiply: life is their weapon against life, life all that they have.”
There’s also a ton of celebrity cameos within the short film—including Michael B. Jordan, Ghost Omari Hardwick, Rosario Dawson, Rashida Jones, Thandie Newton, America Ferrera, Brie Larson, Constance Wu, Jessica Chastain, Mindy Kaling, and more.

JAY-Z’s 13th solo album ‘4:44’ is here and fans have already started to dig into it to identify some of the most prominent samples used by the project’s sole producer No I.D. Genius rounded up every sample you need to know, from Nina Simone’s 1966 track “Four Women” on “The Story of O.J.” to Sister Nancy’s dancehall classic “Bam Bam” on “Bam” featuring Damian Marley and Donny Hathaway’s “Some Day We’ll All Be Free” on “Legacy.”

The video is a animated clip revolving around the character of Jaybo (a flip on “Sambo” from the racist children’s book The Story of Little Black Sambo from the 20th century) as he navigates through a landscape of cotton fields, slave ships, burning crosses, and lynchings.
Shortly after announcing his next album, Grateful , DJ Khaled has revealed its first single “Shining,” featuring JAY Z & Beyoncé. The song which comes after Beyoncé’s epic performance at the 59th annual Grammy awards. Produced by Danja (Timbaland, Kanye West) and co-written by PARTYNEXTDOOR.
All this killing needs to stop. Getting sick and tired of hearing another black man shot down behind a police mans gun. JAY is tired of seeing and hearing also.
